The Constitutional Tribunal publishes the Official Collection of the Constitutional Tribunal's Jurisdiction, and the serial book Studies and Materials which contains elaborations prepared for the use of Judges, a selection of Tribunal's judgments and conclusions, and materials from the scientific conferences organized by the Tribunal, and monographs covering different areas of law.
In 2001 the Constitutional Tribunal began publishing a new serial book edition, A Selection of Tribunal's Judgements and Conclusions. Each edition contains the conclusions of the Tribunal's jurisdiction and a brief overview of its opinions handed down within the previous six months.
The Polish Constitutional Tribunal's publishing activity has been carried on since the establishment of the institution in 1985. At the beginning the only periodical systematically published was the annual series: The Jurisprudence of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal.
Publishing activity highlighting the Tribunal's jurisdiction, its activity, its scientific dimension and its international cooperation with other constitutional courts began in 1995. Since then, the responsibility for the publishing activity of the Tribunal rested within the power of the Cabinet of the President of the Tribunal, as the Presidential Department was then called. At that timeThe Official Collection of the Jurisprudence of the Constitutional Tribunal (Orzecznictwo Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Zbiór Urzędowy)
began to appear in print..
Next, the series Materials and Studies was created, which reflected Tribunal's scientific activity and all the events related to its work. Presently, the series also contains three commemorative books and materials from the General Assemblies of the Judges of the Tribunal.
Another series, Constitutional Courts in Europe (Sądy Konstytucyjne w Europie), is published in co-operation with the Library of the Tribunal. The Constitutional Tribunal's Bulletin (Biuletyn Trybunału Konstytucyjnego) appears in co-operation with the Department of Jurisdiction and Studies, the former Department of Analysis. The same department also prepared the following works: Constitution; Constitutional Tribunal - The collection of studies; Human Rights and the new Constitution of the Republic of Poland; and Selection of the Constitutional Tribunal's jurisprudence from 1986 to 1999, (edited in English) in 1999.
In 2000 the work, Constitutional Jurisprudence in the Area of Freedom of Religion and Beliefs, was issued in English, French, and German. This publication dealt with the 11th Conference of the European Constitutional Courts, held in Warsaw the same year.
In 2001 the current versions of the Constitution of 1997 and Constitutional Tribunal Act were published in French and in English. Two editions of the album about the Constitutional Tribunal - its composition, biographies of the judges, basic normative acts regulating its work and a short introduction concerning the history of the institution and its rules of procedure - were published in Polish and English. The first edition was edited also in French.
In 2001 the new serial edition, Selection of Tribunal's Judgements and Conclusions, "aimed at facilitating the search for the essence of the Tribunal's jurisprudence began being published. Each volume refers to the decisions or general rules pronounced by the Tribunal during the previous half-year. One may find required information by utilizing the inserted Index of normative acts.
On the 1st March 2001 the new and independent Editorial Office of the Tribunal's Publications was created. It is in charge of the organization and management of the publishing activity of the Polish Constitutional Tribunal.
