Justice Andrzej Wróbel was born on 18 July 1953 in Bodzechów. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin in 1976. Judge Wróbel earned his juris doctor degree in 1982, and a habilitated doctor's degree in 1991. A professor of legal sciences since 2002. He commenced his professional career in 1976 at the Chair of Administrative Law and Administration Science of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. From 1993 to 1994 he was Deputy Dean for Extramural Studies in Administration at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University. Head of the Chair of International Law and European Law at the Institute of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences from 2004 to 2010. Chairman of the Institute's Scientific Council from 2009 to 2010. Judge of the Supreme Court at the Labour Law, Social Security and Public Affairs Chamber from 1994 to 2011 Member of the Legislative Council of the 9th term of office from 2003 to 2006. Chairman of the Programme Council of the National Centre for Training the Staff of Common Courts and Public Prosecution from 2006 to 2008. Deputy Chairman of the European Law Team established by the Minister of Justice since 2005. Editor-in-chief of the "Europejski Przegląd Sądowy" (European Court Review). Member of the Polish Association for European Law. Participant of the Polish-German Colloquium of Lawyers-Administrativists since 1984. Author of over 170 scholarly writings on administrative law and administrative proceedings, as well as on European law. In May 2011 the Sejm of the Republic of Poland appointed him Justice of the Constitutional Tribunal.
