Judge Ferdynand Rymarz was born on 23 March 1940 in Strzyżewice, Lublin voivodship. He graduated from the Faculty of Law and Administration of Maria Curie-Skłodowska University [UMCS] in Lublin in 1967. In 1967-1969 he trained as prosecutor, after which, from 1969 to 1970, he served as an associate and then, in 1970-1973, an assistant public prosecutor at the county prosecutor's office for the city of Lublin. He practised as a legal adviser from 1974 to 1975, and as an advocate in Lublin from 1976 to 1990. He was a member of the Supreme Council of the Bar from 1983 to 1995. He returned to the profession of a prosecutor in 1990, and served as a Deputy Voivodship Prosecutor in Lublin (1990-1992), and then a Deputy Public Prosecutor General of the Republic of Poland (1992-1993). He is a member of the Association of Polish Catholic Lawyers and the Association of Graduates of the UMCS. Since 1994 he has been a member, and since 1998 the Chairman, of the National Electoral Commission. He is a prolific author of publications in the field of law and regional history. Ferdynand Rymarz was a Judge of the Constitutional Tribunal from 1993 to 2001. |
