BŁAŻEJ WIERZBOWSKI

 

Judge Błażej Wierzbowski was born on 3 March 1946 in Sumino, Pomeranian-Kujavian voivodship. He graduated from the Faculty of Law of Mikołaj Kopernik University in Toruń [UMK] in 1968. From 1969 to 1971 he trained as judge. Judge Wierzbowski earned his juris doctor degree in 1975, and a habilitated doctor's degree in 1987. In 1990 he was awarded the title of professor.  In 1987-1990 he was deputy dean at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the UMK. In 1991 - 2006 he was the head of the Chair of Agricultural Law at that University.

In 1989-1990 he practised as a legal adviser, and then, from 1990 to 1993, served as a judge on the Appellate Court in Gdańsk.

He is a corresponding member of the Comité Européen de Droit Rural.

He is an author of 3 monographs and nearly 100 articles, glosses and reviews.

Błażej Wierzbowski was a Judge of the Constitutional Tribunal from 1993 to 1998.
